Garth Brooks BST Hyde Park June 27th 2026
Updated: Jul 5
Garth himself seemed perplexed as to why he had not performed in the UK in almost 30 years. Like many other fans I had considered going to Ireland to see him in 2022 and regretted not making the trip. However, last weekend's event in Hyde Park was really something special and it broke previous BST records with almost 70,000 people in attendance.

I felt very emotional seeing the rainbow. It added to the magic of the whole event. It was fleeting but poignant

Garth opened with Rodeo and closed with Friends in Low Places. I was pleased to hear two of my favourites The Beaches of Cheyenne and That Summer, both highlighting the storytelling element present in his music.

He seemed genuinely touched by how many fans had come out to see the show.

The ballads were poignant; notably The Dance, If Tomorrow Never Comes and The River. Garth hinted to his army of fans that he will be back, lets hope it's sooner than another 3 decades!

The Zach Brown Band

ZB were on top form as ever as the final warm up act of the afternoon. I was pleased to hear Toes which I used to line dance to and a rousing rendition of The Devil Went Down to Georgia, which a British Sign Language interpreter was signing too. She looked to be having a blast! (You can see her bottom left!)

It was rather ironic to hear Colder Weather considering the awful heatwave that afflicted the UK in the run up to the event. Luckily on the actual day it did feel much more comfortable particularly in the evening when a couple of raindrops fell and a beautiful rainbow appeared behind Garth.

Ashley McBryde

Ashley was in great shape and fine voice as she opened her set with Arkansas Mud. I always prefer her softer side so personal highlights were One Night Standards, Light On In The kitchen, Behind Bars and her classic A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega.

As expected she sang several songs from her current album Wild. She's one of my favourites and always a pleasure to see live.

Mae Estes

Mae Estes is another wonderful female artist who I think is one to watch. Her acoustic performance at C2C this year was probably the highlight of this year's festival. It was great to see her return to the UK and play on the smaller Rainbow stage. This time she had a band with her. I only caught the final part of her set but it was heartening to see the support she was receiving from the audience. Mark my words, Mae is going places!

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Here are a few snaps of me absorbing it all

Looked a quality event, Marie. Let's hope Garth doesn't leave it so long, next time! Good supporting artists, fine weather and explanetory photos. Well done in attending. Was it easy to find your spot, once you had wandered off?
